When you join the list

We keep your email address, which ad brought you here (a tag like “science” or “summer”), which of our two page designs you saw, and the page that linked you, if your browser sends one. That's the whole row.

• It is stored in a Google Sheet (Google Ireland Ltd processes it for us).
• One welcome email is sent through Resend, our email provider.
• We write to you about the first drop and nothing else. Reply “remove” to any email and the row is deleted.

The legal basis is your consent, given by submitting the form. Nothing is charged and no payment details are ever collected.

Ad measurement, on unless you turn it off

We show ads on Facebook and Instagram, and we'd like to know which ones work. From the moment you arrive, unless you have turned it off before:

• The Meta Pixel loads and sets its cookies (_fbp, sometimes _fbc), which tell Meta an ad led to this visit. Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd is a joint controller for this; their privacy policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
• If you then join the list, we also report the signup to Meta server-side so it counts once, accurately. Your email travels hashed (SHA-256), never in the clear.

To turn it off, use the “cookies” link in the footer of the homepage and press decline. The cookies above are cleared straight away rather than at expiry, nothing further loads from Meta, and nothing more is reported, including the server-side half. The choice is remembered, so it holds on later visits. The list works exactly the same either way, and you can join it without any of this.

What the site keeps in your browser

• Your cookie choice, once you make one, so turning ad measurement off keeps it off.
• The ad tag (e.g. “summer”), so a signup a few minutes after arriving still credits the right ad. First-party, never sent anywhere except with your signup.

No analytics cookies exist on this site beyond the Meta Pixel described above.

Hosting

The site is served by Vercel, which briefly keeps standard server logs (IP address, requested page) to run and protect the service.

If your reservation cannot be delivered to our list, your email address is written to those same logs so we can put it back by hand. That happens only when the delivery fails, never on a normal signup; the entry holds your address and which page you came from, and nothing else; and it expires with the rest of the logs within days rather than being kept.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold on you, have it corrected or deleted, take it with you, or withdraw any consent: all at hello@shadedworld.com, answered within a month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
